On December 1st 2025, the SATISPHACTION project took part in the European Bioplastics side event "Bioplastic Packaging Design: Safe, Sustainable and Recyclable", organised during the European Bioplastics Conference (EBC25) in Berlin.
The event brought together several Horizon Europe and EIC Pathfinder projects working on next-generation circular bioplastics to exchange knowledge and showcase innovative approaches for designing packaging that is not only bio-based, but also safe, sustainable and compatible with circular end-of-life strategies.
During the session, SATISPHACTION presented its vision for advancing high-performance PHA-based food packaging through innovative upcycling routes, AI-assisted polymer design and Safe and Sustainable by Design (SSbD) principles, contributing to the broader discussion on how bioplastics can better support a circular bioeconomy.
Following the event, all presentations and extended abstracts were compiled into a collaborative publication, now openly available on Zenodo. The publication provides an overview of the latest research and innovation efforts across the participating projects and serves as a valuable resource for researchers, industry and policymakers interested in the future of sustainable bioplastic packaging.
